Today, I logged in on Neobux and was assuming that they'd do another prank for this year's April Fools Day. And guess what, they did!

But unlike the previous years of 2009 and 2010, this was very much simplier. More of like an impromptu prank.

To my surprise, minutes after posting the ad eh may nag-inquire agad! So I gave the contact details to my mom. Nagkasundo sila sa price and kukunin na daw niya kinabukasan. Hanggang dumating na nga.. I was literally shocked when I saw the money being handed down. Binili ng manong yung 2 bicycle bodies for P500.00 each! Yung dapat na ibebenta lang namin sa magbabakal na barya e naging P1,000.00 pa! Of course napahiya ako dahil noong una pinagtatawanan ko pa. Pero that inspired me a lot.

Yung akala ko na basura, mapapakinabangan pa pala ng iba.

Since then sulit has been my main choice if I wanted to sell something online and dispose of it really fast. Starting with the things I don't need anymore hanggang real estate properties. At kahit maraming ibang pwedeng pag-postan ng ads online, sulit pa rin ang the best sa 'kin!

Creating simple web banners for your blog/business

This is my official entry for Sulit.com.ph's Banner Making Contest to Win an Apple iMac (and Other Cool Gadgets).

For this tutorial, I will be using Adobe Photoshop mainly because it is one of the most used software for creating/editing web banners. So assuming that you have this program installed, you can follow along with me. You can also use other Adobe Programs, Corel Products, or even Paint.

We'll be creating a simple web full banner (468x60) using Sulit.com.ph as an example.

Logo - You're banner needs to have a recognizable and distinctive graphic mark or emblem. Must be atleast Web 2.0 compliant. This will aim to promote instant public recognition.

Tagline - You need to have a marketing/branding term; a few words – a phrase or sentence – associated with your brand name (either company or product/service name or even your blog name). A tagline should be brief, evocative and should imply what you do and/or what you stand for.

People - Lastly you'll need people for brainstorming. This can be officemates or simply friends. Ask for opinions on whether your design suits their liking.

All set? Let's begin!

A great start is to create your banner's background. You can use simple colors such as white or black. I used a gradient (color green to black; matching sulit.com.ph's green theme).

Next, key in your tagline. Make this visible as this will be your main invitation to users.

Optional: Add a button encouraging users to go sign up/visit your website for further information.

Now that your banner is complete, you can now save and upload it for the web.

Bottomline: When creating an effective banner, you have to remember to always be concise with the content and don't put too much heavy graphics. Don't use misleading texts or graphics as this will lead to major disappointment on the user part. This will likely give your website a high bounce rate. After all, it's not always about the design. It's being transparent. What you want is quality click-throughs converting them to customers.

Today I successfully loaded credits to my mobile phone using netload central.

Last June 4, 2010 I bought a P100 Smart Call Card that is priced at $2.72 from Netload Central using my paypal account.

Since it is my first time purchasing from them, I am required to email them a screenshot of my transaction details. (You only have to do this for your first time.)

Voila! Today they sent me my e-pin via email. I loaded it just like I bought a call card from a store. (1510 + 14 digit pin then press send)

My take on this:

This is ideal if you want to load credits at the comfort of your own home or basically anywhere in the world you might be. It would be the same even if you buy the card from a store. Call Card cost + Transportation Fare + Effort on buying is almost the same equivalent. Unless ofcourse you'll just buy it from across the street or you're simply feeling diligent and want the extra exercise to go out and buy.

The reason why netload central took 3 days before sending me the e-pin is because they said that they've just recovered from technical problems with their servers which also affected their verification system. But if there weren't any problems, sending it would just be 10-15 minutes after purchase since I have a verified paypal user. (non-verified users will take around 48 hours before receiving the e-pin on their email)

My tip for users who want to buy efficiently here is that before your credits expire or run out, make sure you buy additional credits like 2-3 days or atleast a day before to avoid any delay.

Overall, buying credits online was a great experience! Definitely this site is not a scam. I am looking forward on buying bigger denominations next time.

Google Algorithm Update 2010

Google confirms that a May algorithm update did indeed occur between May 28-30 and was labeled as "May Day" mainly affecting search results from mostly long tail queries. Many users first reported this on Webmaster World that their traffic decreased from 10-50%.

I noticed other fellow bloggers that some of their websites increased pagerank this week that led me to check my other sites and indeed noticed the change. Its weird because the last PR update only happened a month ago.

To learn more, watch the video below of Matt Cutts from Google confirming the update via Google webmaster YouTube channel. According to Matt, this is an “algorithmic change and it does impact long tail searches more than head searches”.

Just when you thought the scamming is over, it gets even worse.

I tried logging in at blogadvertisingstore today HOPING just hoping that my payment is already in process. This only proves that blogadvertisingstore is a scam. I was surprised that my paypal address was changed to:

webchemistry@hotmail.com

I also tried changing it back to my original paypal address but it just won't change. Plus the logout button won't work.

Anyone got a similar problem?

With all the recent video viruses (obama - clinton scandal, candid camera prank and distracting beach babes) that came out recently, the biggest social networking site (facebook) now faces a big deal against privacy issues to its users.

What happens is because users are inexperienced, the bad guys take advantage.

Check out this article from yahoo about the 7 Things to Stop Doing Now on Facebook.

Sophos, an IT security firm conducted a new survey to 1588 users. A whopping 60 percent are considering leaving the social network while 16 percent already did due to insufficient control over their data.

Senior Technology Consultant Graham Cluley of Sophos also wrote a blog post regarding this issue.

"A mass exodus from Facebook seems unlikely, but Facebook members are clearly getting more interested in knowing precisely who can view their data," wrote Graham Cluley, Senior Technology Consultant, Sophos, in a blog post.

"With this survey showing that only 24% of users aren't thinking about quitting, Facebook will need to make sure further changes to the privacy policy are clear, concise and in the interest of making it easier for members to know exactly who has access to whatever they chose to upload."

My opinion on this is I think they should do a survey to more people. I mean, 1588 is nothing compared to the millions of facebook users around the world! I'd like to see results from those numbers.

Facebook also has to make noob-friendly tutorials on how to set their privacy because most users don't know how to set their privacy options safely, and find the process confusing.

Affiliate Programs - If you have a website, you can use it to promote various affiliates. Using your affiliate link, you can sell website themes, online products, promote other websites, and get a revenue share for every successful purchase online.

GPT Programs - Get Paid To do stuffs. Get paid to click, tweet, read emails, upload files, answer surveys, etc. There are thousands of these but most of it are very time consuming though not to mention a lot are scam. So use at your own risk

Sponsored Reviews - If you have a website, you can use it to write sponsored posts. This is one of the major income streams of many bloggers.

Third Party Advertising - If you have a website, you can put third party ads such as Google Adsense, Bidvertiser, etc. Everytime a person clicks on those advertisements, you earn money.

Direct Advertising - This is a very good source of income online if you can get direct advertisers to place ads on your website for your desired price.

Take note that both Third Party and Direct Advertising in order to really make money from it, needs a high traffic website.

Ofcourse I did not bother to click on the link simply because it looks suspicious. With a little research, I learned that this is no different.

The video was entitled, "Candid Camera Prank [HQ]" with a personal message that says, "(USER), this is without doubt the sexiest video ever! :P :P :P" with a length of 3:17 minutes long.

If you do encounter this, immediately delete the wall post and block the application to avoid your friends from being infected by the virus.

I also got a couple of app sources for this video. One from WinAmp and the other one from K-Multimedia. I'm sensing that these two we're not just the only ones used.

They owe me $106 and is unlikely to reply to any of my messages and worse is even pay me.

Here is one of my messages sent to them. I was actually threatening them if they won't pay me.

I gave them enough time to pay its members including me before posting this. But this can't go any longer.

At first they promised to pay me by the end of November 2009 then it moved to december, then the months past 'til march came and I saw this:

By that time I thought I was gonna be paid but no! It was moved again! And then I saw this one:

Hacked again for the 2nd time

Since my other blog got hacked almost a week ago, I was very anxious that it can happen again anytime soon.

And it did! Fucking hackers!

They infected my database and inserted this malicious code on my footer:

Unlike last time that took me 7 hours to fix, this only took me 20 minutes to fix everything. Pretty fancy huh?

But this is very alarming because after I restored everything when I first got hacked, I also managed to replace all my passwords to atleast prevent my blog from being hacked again. But somehow the hackers still managed to do so..

Jeez! GoDaddy, please fix your system! Good thing I always check my site regularly for malicious codes! It's like a phobia! What if I don't then?!

And for the hackers, I dare you to hack me again! Your skills are useless! FUCK ALL OF YOU!

Twitter Hacked - Back to zero followers

While I was about to tweet something on twitter, I noticed that my following and followers count are both 0 (zero). I don't know what went wrong but I checked on other users and they were the same on numbers. According to some, this incident was labled as the "apocalypse". I got reports that twitter is now fixing this.

The weird thing is even though it's zero in number, I'm still getting updates from the people that I'm following.

Hacked

Yesterday my other blog technochase was hacked. I was very frustrated and scared at the same time because this was my first time encountering this kind of problem. Considering that I have an up-to-date version of everything plus I have very very secured passwords and yet this happened. This was one of my biggest fears and in fact very anxious about it thinking "What if I was hacked? What will I do when that time comes?" Well that day finally came..

A hacker basically injected a deadly malware on my site. That certain blog of mine runs on a wordpress platform unlike this blog that runs on blogger.

What happens is when someone tries to view my site, it redirects the user to a website telling him that the computer is badly infected with a virus and then a pop up will appear forcing you to download the certain file and install it on your computer.

So what did I do?

I remained CALM.

That's right, I calmed down.. I realized panicking won't do anything. I focused on one thing, and that is to set my mind that I know this'll be fixed. I can fix this!

Realizing that godaddy has a very crappy support, I just started researching on my own. I browsed about similar hack issues and found out that I was not alone. Many other blogs were hacked that day aswell. At first I thought this is about another godaddy issue, but I later found out that many other hosting sites got targetted by the hacker too.

One of the advises I got from reading help support forums concerning this issue is to simply clean everything. I was like, "WTF?! Everything?! I still got lots of things to do! I can't do this now!" But if I don't, my rankings would be at stake. Jeez! So I had no choice but to have some coffee ready because I'd be on nocturnal mode once again. It's operation site cleaning time!

When I tried viewing my source code, I found a malicious script on my footer originating from this site:

Not only that, all my files got infected too and a very long code was present on all my theme templates and plugins that looks like this at the beginning:

eval(base64

So what now? How can I delete these codes? I can manually delete them one by one but it'll take me forever! But I didn't gave up.. After almost 7 hours of research, I was almost ready to delete my entire database when I learned about godaddy's lifesaver feature.

"Restore"

What it does is it restores your files from a certain point of time.

So to cut the long story short, I just reverted everything back from May 6, 2010 back when my blog wasn't hacked yet. Voila! Everything was fixed! I was like, "Is that all you got hacker?! Noob!" Haha!

Yahoo’s New Ad Disses Google

Yahoo recently launched a new ad campaign ($75-$85 million ad campaign (a subset of the $100 million campaign CEO Carol Bartz launched last year) telling people that they got all you need on a homepage.

The slogan goes:

“Your favorite stuff all in one place. Make Yahoo your home page.”

Personally I think that the video does its job just fine, but the site does not. After the user opens the window, there you'll see a blank page where you can't figure out where your eyes should go. Typically too much to see, nothing to look at.

Plus I think someone should inform yahoo that google has a nice feature called iGoogle. You can customize the look and feel of your homepage the way you want it. The best thing is, it doesn't have advertisements!

I think the reason why google's homepage is a success is because of its clean and uncluttered interface. Users get what they want when they search something and not some rubbish that other search engines return.

But I'm not closing my doors on yahoo. They are working more and more to improve their system and reclaim the top spot. After all, it is one of the big SEOs in the business and is definitely an advantage to have your website listed on its search.

How to Remove Obama-Clinton Virus

Eversince I wrote the article about the controversial Barack Obama - Hillary Clinton Scandal, I've been getting a lot of emails on how to remove this malicious koobface virus that originated from facebook.

Basically I will just give you simple tips. Prevention is still better than cure.

If you see this application lurking on your wall, delete it right away to prevent other people specially your friends on clicking it and get infected too.

If you did click the application, normally facebook's security will ask a permission on whether or not you'd like that certain app to gain access to your account. Deny it at once. That message should've given you a hint right away that the app should not be trusted because it is asking to gather sensitive information. That alone is enough reason why!

If ever you do get infected by the virus, block the application and report it.

Lastly, get a premium anti-virus (don't go for free ones as they won't do the job right) and scan all your system.

Bottomline is be careful on clicking facebook applications on your wall. Not because it is recommended by a trusted friend and it is labeled as "Scandal" it means you'll have to click on it right away to satisfy your curiosity.

This applies not only for facebook, but to other social networking sites aswell.

New Neobux Makeover

Today I was surprised to see one of my affliate banners (neobux specifically) changed appearance.

At first I thought it was because I was hosting my images on google sites and that it received such penalty because the message on the banner says "Paid-to-Click Service" and had an X mark logo on it.

But I then realized that I didn't host the specific neobux banner there and that I used the one that neobux provided. So I began to think something is going on so I just visited the website to answer my curiosity.

Then this is what I saw..

Pretty fancy huh?

I tried logging in this morning and saw numerous improvements! It even welcomed me with a personal message! LOL!

So what do I think about it? Personally I'm loving the new user interface. However I'm not liking the new banners because I think it does not somehow blend with its niche. Overall the site is a thumbs up for me!

This just proves how neobux is seriously improving its services for their memebers to enjoy!

On my previous articles, I've taught you guys on how to get your website indexed on google and bing. Now I'm going to teach you on how to get listed on yahoo.

You can submit your site manually and ofcourse for free. You will just need a yahoo account. If you don't have a yahoo account, you can create one for free.

If you already have one, you can proceed by clicking the link below:

Submit your website on yahoo.

Click on the "Submit a Website or Webpage" dropdown and enter the url you'd like to submit.

You will then be redirected on the yahoo account login page.

Enter your account details.

Voila! Your site is now submitted for approval.

Yahoo is another great source of search traffic so getting inside its list is definitely a must! Hope that helps!

Previously, I made an article on how to get your site indexed on google. Now I'll teach you how to submit your website on one of google's greatest search competitor. The Microsoft Bing search engine!

Just like from other search engines, you can grab tons of traffic from bing. Getting your site indexed here is a must plus it's very easy to do!

So how do you get your site listed on bing? You can submit it manually or you can upload an xml file using bing webmaster center. Just provide the needed information and you're all set.

Usually it takes 3 weeks or more to get bing bots crawl your website after submission so just be patient.

Today I received a wall post on facebook from one of my friends that appears to be a video entitled "Barack Obama Hillary Clinton - Sex Scandal".

I thought that it was a trusted link and my friend really wanted to share it to me so I clicked on the link anyway. After that, I noticed a very suspicious request and is asking for my permission. So I didn't bothered to continue because I am very much against those kind of security thingy.

This is very alarming because it comes with a personalized message containing your name plus the request that you should check it out. To think that this is one of the top websites in the world!

I did some research and found out that this facebook app contains a virus that SPAMS YOUR FRIENDS. It sends messages to your contacts without you knowing about it.. Unlike the other apps that ask permissions first, this one doesn't.

Many members including myself already reported this. Beware of clicking apps because this is not the end of scam sites like this.

PR Update Today

Although it's not official yet, some bloggers (including myself) did noticed a change on their website PR/Pagerank bar. April 3rd on the US and April 4th here in the philippines. I've checked all of my sites to make sure and only 2 changed in ranking and the others didn't including my PR 4 blog.

A PR 0 blog of mine with only 15 posts got a PR 2 and my other blog that has a PR of 2 got an N/A. Although the said update is on going from March 31st to April 31st, I'm still keeping my hopes up. I'll still be checking on the days to come.

If the update did really happened today, then this blog successfully retained its PR 2 status.

The time of the year has come once again! April Fools Day 2010! Neobux this year has it's own prank on it's members. Unlike last year's prank, this one really seemed believable.

After logging in to my account, I directly went to view my available advertisements to click.

I noticed that aside from my regular 4 advertisements per day as a standard member, there is a special one available to click.

The ad description says,

Earn $1000 instantly!
This offer is only valid for the first users that view this advertisement correctly!

Wow! Catchy isn't it? So I immediately clicked on it and the anti-bot clicker red dot button appeared to confirm I am a human being.

After clicking the red button, instead of opening a new tab on my browser.. a smiley appeared. Yes, it's a smiley! At first I thought it was kinda cute so I just clicked on it and thought maybe it'll open the advertisement this time so I could get my $1000 cash.

But everytime I tried hovering my mouse pointer on it, it quickly changes its position!
It actually evades efficiently my mouse pointer!

I then realized that neobux was only pranking since it is after all april fools. After a few seconds of numerous attempting and not being able to click that certain advert, the smiley laughed! As if it was making fun of me! Geeez!

So I just clicked the other ads instead.

While clicking the others, I noticed that the smiley even got bored mainly because I wasn't able to click it.

Back on Track

After months of being busy, I finally got the time to rework this blog. I don't want to be sentimental or anything, but I've come to realize that this blog is the one that gave me real money. The one that made it possible to continue what I'm doing.. The one that funded all my website bills (advertising, domains and hostings). My main provider ever since. Starting out from ptc, to paid postings, to ads, and soon to various sponsorships. It was this blog eversince. It's time to repay the favor. Once again, I am back on track!

I realized a lot of important things. That being busy is not an excuse! Being blank what to write is not an excuse! Being simply lazy is definitely not an excuse! I love blogging and I love to share! That's enough reason to continue to do this! I have to do what I love to do.

In the following days, I'll be posting lots of stuff here. Mainly focusing on the various ways on online money making ofcourse. I'll be adding website and seo tips for my fellow bloggers. To share what I've learnt back in the days that I was not able to update this blog.

Experience Green Valley real estate

Good day readers!

I would like to seek for your guidance this time; your opinions will be highly appreciated.

I plan to buy a property in Vegas for me to have my own place to stay during my vacation instead of constantly troubling my relatives.

Since I’ll be using my hard-earned money, I don’t want any negligence to transpire on my decision.

I’ve started browsing on real estate companies through the internet since early this year and I’ve found one that really interests me.

They offer great deals on Las Vegas Nevada Real estate.

Their profile says a lot on their stability as a company.

Upon checking the gallery, I found facades of houses which really mesmerized me and they seem really spacious as indicated on the specifications.

Though I’m having a dilemma on choosing between two of their suites which are the Green Valley real estate and the Sun City real estate.

The first one gives me the impression of a pleasant atmosphere while, the latter have delicate architectural lay out.

I might be missing some aspects that should be considered on this matter and with focus in these two suites; you might be able to help me out in deciding.

Removing 4 ptc sites on mainlist

I will be removing 4 sites on my mainlist today. I don't want to further elaborate on why I removed it. To make the long story short, GPTBank announced it on their scamlist. So I won't click it anymore. I'm beginning to doubt at that GPT Network. When they endorse a site, after a few weeks it becomes scam. I'm pretty upset about it 'coz it really wasted my time clicking.

This is a common rule on PTC sites. They always require members from china to upgrade first because they say that a lot of them are cheaters. Lucky for me I live in the philippines and is not a chinese. I really do think that despite the massive cheating, there are still honest users in that country. I hope someday PTC owners develop a way to determine cheaters without the consent of banning honest members.

New Important Rule on Neobux

Admin says:

"As of now, all advertisement clicks must be done using a single account per computer.
This means that you as a user can only let your account view advertisements in your computer.

Remember: One single account per computer.
This is only for the advertisement visualization and nothing else.
You can still access your account in shared computers and use everything in your account except the advertisement visualization.

This rule (as now defined in the terms of service) will be very strict and will enforce the shared login one as well as the 24 hours IP limitation.
Not following this rule: No warning will be given and it will lead in most cases to the suspension of all accounts that viewed advertisements in the same computer.

This rule has two simple yet big purposes:

Remove unwanted cheaters.
Remove shared accounts to increase (or at least in theory) clicking average.

We already know the PROS. But what about the CONS of this move?
Ok, here's what I think..

Cons:
Sadly, I feel this is going to hurt many honest users.

What about those who use a computer at work and at home?
What about the times when you get a virus/other problems, and make a trip to the library or computer shop just to get your clicks in.
What if you've gone on vacation and used a friend's computer to click ads.
What happens when we purchase a new computer, how do we 'switch' it over?

A lot of questions that need to be answered by neobux.

Blogs are a portion of the many technological advancements we have seen in recent day, but they have quickly become extremely popular. People can create them to share their thoughts, ideas, and expertise with others around the world. There are vast quantities of blogs out on the internet these days, but not all of them are created equally. Many are excellent, but others are more painful to read. Just what exactly makes a blog less than enjoyable? This can be attributed to any number of reasons.

First of all, it can sometimes be difficult to find a blog that best fits your current need. For example, doing an internet search for a blog on a specific topic could bring up hundreds of sites. Some will be large sites such as Blogger that host lots of smaller blogs, and you will have to weed through to find the one that you need.

Another problem with blogs is the content. A blog is intended to be a forum for expressing yourself to the world. Unfortunately, too many people tend to use it as a chat room between friends. They write all about local events and such and comment back and forth in that way. People also tend to use phrases and/or slang that is only familiar to their friends. This alienates potential readers who might like to gain some knowledge from the blog.

In addition, there are often too many blogs out there that have just not been updated. It seems that people start them up but do not take the time to post after a while. It would be helpful if blog owners realized that people often want the information they can provide and would like to form a readership relationship with the writer. Speaking of content, if you consider creating a blog, think of an intelligent topic. For example, consider starting a blog that would be more along the lines of a philosophical discussion or spiritual exploration. There are already too many blogs on the web devoted to people’s favorite actors or actresses. Share your knowledge and passion with the world; just choose the less trivial knowledge!

Another common problem with blogs is the commenting feature. It is virtually useless in many cases. A large number of blog owners have a place for comments available, but many do not bother to respond to the comments placed. It is difficult to create a readership if you leave them feeling insignificant or ignored.

The world of blogging can be fresh, interesting, and exciting. However, it takes some work by the blog writers to create relevant blogs that are useful for a wide range of people. Chat rooms were created for small talk and intimate conversations. Blogging is meant to create a community that can share information and passion on various topics. If writers will focus on the readership more than on themselves, blogs would be better for everyone!

It recently launched 3 days ago. I am really impressed with the viewing system of this ptc site. You have to click a button, then hover your mouse on the advertisement. Take note that once you move your mouse somewhere else, you will receive an error. Forcing you to refresh the page in order to view it again. So you will definitely be forced to really view the advertisement. Advertisers really gain maximum exposure here.

Nothing really special about this post. Maybe you'd say, "I have a plurk account already! Shhiissssh!". Don't be irritated because that's why I posted this.. For people who still don't have one. Its just that I felt that I was being left behind. Haha! I see a lot of blog owners today, including my blogger friends having a widget that serves like a "status message" on their website. Expressing his/her everyday routine.. That's why I decided to create one for myself. I find it pretty cool 'coz even when you're on-the-go, you can still post messages via your mobile phone. Not to mention the cool and easy-to-use interface.

GooBux suspended my account

I'll go straight to the point. Upon logging in yesterday, I was surprised with what I saw on my screen.
Take a look at the screenshot below:

GooBux banned a lot of people, myself included, my friend pinoy deal and many others because we're under the referral name "gptbank", which is being accused as a cheater for having bots as its referrals. Its pretty unfair for members like me because we don't have anything to do with our upline's problem or illegal activity (if any).
I don't want to further comment on this matter because something bigger is happening with regards to the PTC business.
I'll keep you posted on what's gonna happen next.
